Every golfer is unique and individual in their requirements to achieving improved results within their game. There are many pieces of information and tips available within the golfing World and all are correct and valid within their own right however an individual may try 10 different tips or pieces of information whereby none may be applicable to that particular individual and in trying each one rhythm and consistency is lost.
This is where the guidance of a Professional becomes one of the quickest routes to improvement. Achieving consistent results stems from creating solid basic fundamentals and producing a repeatable movement in its most simplistic form. Improvements to your game may be made by simple key adjustments and need not be a long and arduous re-build of your swing. If you are new to the game developing solid basics of the technique are key to sustaining ongoing improvement and development. Groove in the good habits from the start. Keys to lowering your score:
- Develop solid basic fundaments within the set up.
- Create a simplified and repeatable technique.
- Develop a solid and consistent short game – This is the scoring zone and is one of the quickest ways to lowering your score and in turn your handicap.
- Create reliable and creative course management and tactical skills.
- Develop a regular practice routine.
- Practice in the correct manner – hitting a high number of balls in a small space of time does not always produce speedy improvements. It is the quality of the practice not the quantity.
- Using practice drills which do not include hitting golf balls can be one of the quickest ways to implement a new feeling or move in the swing during practice.
- Very often when purely hitting balls initially even though the brain acknowledges what it needs to do the body will still want to trust the old habit. Taking the ball away encourages the body to gain a greater trust and feeling of the new move.
